Schedule & Description

We have two programs in MDO: M-F 9am-12pm and M-F 9 am-2 pm.  The difference is that the 9 am-2 pm class has lunch (provided by you) in the classroom and a nap time from about 12:45 pm to 1:45 pm.  Our MDO program focuses on language and social skills, learning to share, waiting turns, transitions, as well as becoming independent over the course of the school year (washing hands, sitting at the table, etc.).  They also have introduction to letters, numbers, colors, and shapes.  The teachers assist your efforts in potty training to be consistent and to help with the process. They go to chapel once a week, Spanish, Music and Movement once a week.  The children enjoy outdoor play every day for about  30 to 40 minutes on our smaller playground designed just for two year olds.

They have snack in the classroom (which you provide).  ALL of our classes have a lead teacher and an assistant.  The 9-12 MDO Classroom holds 9 students and the 9-2 MDO Classroom holds 11 students.  Our MDO Staff have over 20 years combined experience which we value in the nurturing and overall growth of our precious 2 year old students.

We offer Early Morning Care M-F from 8 am to 9 am for $5.20 per day.  We also offer STARZ Extended Care M-F from 12 pm to 5 pm at the rate of $5.20 per hour based on the actual time that you use.  Your child may attend Extended Care even on the days he/she is not in attendance at the start time of 12:00 noon.

We follow the Northeast Independent School District holiday schedule so when they are closed our school is closed as well and this includes inclement weather days.  We will have two additional days in January that we close so that our staff can attend the Early Childhood Educators Conference for the Texas District Lutheran Church Missouri Synod.  We are also closed on Easter Monday – the day after the Easter.  We are closed one week in March for spring break.

At the beginning of the year, we have a meet the teacher day so the student and family can visit the classroom and meet the teachers.  Our church sponsors an Ice Cream Social that the children enjoy a small chapel service and then ice cream afterwards.  During Lutheran Schools Week we usually have a family picnic.  MDO children participate in our annual Spring Musical Program in May.  They have themed snacks such as a Costume Party in October, Jesus Birthday Party, Valentine’s Day, Rodeo Day, Easter celebrations, and the End of the Year celebration.
